There are two options with Buddypress…group forums (so each group has a contained forum which can be as public or as private as they want) or sitewide forums. Sitewide forums are untested as of yet with Wordpress 3.0 and is a new feature of Buddypress. My vote was to experiment with group forums and see if that suits our need…it’s essentially the same thing, only not.

I found that if you don’t make sure you’re replying in the Forum, the reply is available on your activity. I would like to work on keeping the activity to a minimum. It, to me, is annoying that people can go to your profile and track all your movements. It should be about your work or blog not what silliness you’re posting back and forth…
